Tasting Notes: One of Ontario’s most well-known grape varietals. Cabernet Franc is a popular black-skinned French wine grape. Attractive and youthful, with savoury herbs, smoke and a river of strawberry, black currant and juicy black cherry. A luscious and easy-drinking wine with a long lingering finish.
2nd Party Review: The fruit for this wine comes from the estate’s Vineland Bench vineyards, prime grape-growing real estate on the Niagara Escarpment. A 14 month stint in American and French oak barrels adds depth and warm, well-integrated woodsy notes. Seductive aromas of fresh violets and cranberries continue on the palate where they’re met with sage, tobacco and black olive. Full-bodied and complex with an ongoing finish. 92 points.
