Reserve Riesling 2012
Off dry and fruity with a hint of sweetness. Fruit forward with ripe stone fruit, balanced by pleasant acidity. A light, crisp and refreshing Riesling. Fermented under stressful cool temperature conditions and aged in steel tanks. This wine offers phenomenal balance between crisp, citrusy acidity and gentle touch of residual sugar on the palate and deep and complex tropical fruit flavours on the nose. Like all Kacaba Reserve wines, the 2012 Reserve Riesling started with heavy crop thinning in the vineyard. All fruit was hand harvested and sorted to ensure only the ripest grapes for this wine. The fruit was then gently de-stemmed and pressed into a small batch production steel tanks. The juice then was chilled for 36hrs to a near freezing temperature to further the extraction of tropical fruit flavours. Fermentation was carried forward under cooler temperatures ensuring fresh fruit through the palate.
