Single Vineyard Syrah 2009
Medium-bodied and fruity with dark berry fruit and cracked black pepper. Drinking nicely with a silky mouth feel and refined finish. Syrah is easily Kacaba's signature varietal.
All fruit for this wine was hand harvested from the two separate blocks on the Kacaba estate assuring only the best quality. The fruit was gently de-stemmed and transferred to stainless steel tanks for whole berry fermentation. Manual puchdowns and machine pumpovers were conducted two to three times daily. After fermentation, the wine was transferred to a combination of new and second fill French and American oak barrels. After twelve months of aging, the wine was racked and blended into stainless steel tanks.
